Roadrunners are, beyond all doubts, the most popular birds in the Sonoran Desert. They are really outstanding as regards their speed – it gets up to 15 mph. This bird is also able to take flight, however commonly doesn’t. Sometimes it appears oddly unafraid of people. It’s possible you’ll see one of these big, crested creatures running around the area near lodge, but you are not going to look at one being followed by a coyote like that in the famous cartoon. Roadrunners are fearless eaters of rattlesnakes.
